The RM's Parks & Recreation Plan highlights several recreation objectives for the municipality. These include:
"Establish Programming Opportunities for All Ages and Abilities"; "Improve Existing Parks and Recreation Infrastructure"; and "Explore Indoor Recreation Opportunities".
The RM currently offers residents and visitors several recreation and leisure opportunities in and around the area. These include playgrounds, tennis and pickleball courts, an off-leash dog park, and approximately 8.8 km of paved paths.
There are also several private and provincial recreation opportunities in the area, including a skating rink, archery range, golf course, and the White Butte Trails Recreation Area.
As we work to reach the above-mentioned objectives, we are asking residents and visitors to provide input on the future of parks and recreation in the area.
Update - March 8th 2023: To gather public feedback on future recreation in the area, the RM asked residents, visitors, and other stakeholders to provide input on the future of parks and recreation. By understanding the recreation priorities of residents and visitors, the RM can design and develop parks and recreation options that can best serve current and future residents and visitors.
The survey was available to the public from January 16th to March 5th and received 46 responses. RM staff have begun analysing the survey data and will be making the results public in the coming weeks. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Lee Chambers using the 'Who's Listening' widget on the right.
