Consultation has concluded

In early 2022, the RM began exploring ways of increasing public input on municipal projects. While the municipality used tools like surveys and focus groups to gather feedback, these methods were disjointed and did not allow stakeholders to follow a project from ideation to implementation. This desire for engagement was further reinforced in the Strategic Plan 2021-2026, which states:

"Our governance is founded on openness, fairness, and integrity"; and
"A strong community is fostered through respectful engagement and communication with residents and business owners".

The municipality designed, drafted, and launched 'Your Edenwold' based on this strategic goal. Residents, business owners, visitors, and other stakeholders can use this platform to learn about current and anticipated municipal projects - from upcoming plans and strategic documents to proposed developments and subdivisions.

On each project page, visitors can read a short description about the project and find out who is responsible for collecting public feedback, learn about the project timeline, and shape how the project moves forward. Each project page will be kept up-to-date and be a one-stop shop for information about events and initiatives in the RM.

Public engagement for each project may include completing surveys or quick polls, placing pins on a digital map, asking questions, or joining a public forum focused on a particular topic. Based on the project, this engagement will dictate municipal priorities and ensure the RM is working to serve community needs.
